Kennewick police have filed charges against Jazzmen Latay Slack and Christopher Desean Jackson as a result of a 20-month-old girl testing positive for meth earlier this year at Kennewick General Hospital.

Jazzmen Latay Slack, 20, pleaded innocent in Benton County Superior Court to endangerment with a controlled substance.

Slack has been accused of leaving methamphetamine in her bedroom. She is currently in jail; her bail is set at $5,000.

Christopher Desean Jackson, 31, lives in the South Newport Street home in Kennewick with Slack and her mother and has been charged with endangerment with a controlled substance and possession of meth.

Jackson has been accused of knowingly permitting the young girl to ingest meth while in his care. He is continuing to be held and his bail has been set at $20,000.

Both Jackson and Latay have trials set for May 6.
