Early Sunday morning, Kennewick police apprehended an intoxicated driver who learned the hard way, concrete walls are hard, and your car is no match for them.

Javier Ruiz is in the Benton County jail after he allegedly ran a stop sign near 8th and Gum Streets, then stuffed his car into a concrete retaining wall.

Ruiz fled the scene on foot, said police, but was apprehended a short time later. Beside DUI, he's also facing hit-and-run charges.
