Connell Coaches Fight Cancer with WWE Style Fund Raiser This Fri
A group of coaches from Connell are holding the 2nd annual "Connell Body Slams Cancer" to help raise money for slam cancer and thank all the kids that helped over the last two weeks.
The wrestling match is the final event of the Pennies for Patients fundraiser, a two week promotion at the school to raise money for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
The coaches will battle it out in the ring dressed as some of the greatest WWE wrestlers of all time: Hulk Hogan, Sting, Eddie Guerrero, and Ray Mysterio.
Last year the program raised $1,600, but this year that was passed in the first five days. This year the student already managed to raise over $6,000 and could raise more at the final event.
The final event for Connell Body Slams Caner will be held during a school assembly at 1:45 p.m. on Friday. It is open and free to the public but they will be taking donations at the door, according to reports.
