Convention Center Getting $85 Million Upgrade
Big things are planned for the Three Rivers Convention Center. The City of Kennewick & A-1 Hospitality will be teaming up to expand the convention center as part of an $85 million project. The people behind the project hope to see it kick off in the next two years, but there's no official start date. The development will include the creation of a theatre, exhibit hall, retail space & a new hotel. On Monday, September 30, the city will be hosting an open house for people interested in learning about the new development. This open house will be from 4:30-6:30 at the convention center. Corey Pearson, executive director for the Three Rivers Convention Center says that the facility contributes to the generation of $31 million each year in the community.
