We're guessing perhaps boredom from COVID Stay at Home?

West Richland Police didn't elaborate why, but now say over the weekend, they were kept busy in the late night hours responding to "numerous" fireworks complaints.

The specific neighborhoods were not given, but Police answered multiple calls. They remind area residents that fireworks are only allowed to be set off July 2 through 4 and on December 31st. This only includes fireworks that are approved to be sold through licensed fireworks stands;  not the mortars and 'artillery shells' that some people like to get "elsewhere."

If you happen to be caught with enough evidence to be charged, the fine can be as high as $1,000.
