A motorcycle rider from Michigan is dead after being ejected off his bike Monday evening.

Benton County Deputies say Jesse Hamric, 40, was northbound on SR-225, when his bike traveled onto the gravel shoulder, about 2 miles north of Benton City.

He the apparently lost control, and was ejected from the motorcycle. Deputies and Washington State Patrol troopers say he died at the crash scene. The investigation is still ongoing, not yet known if he was wearing a helmet.

No word either on what led to his bike veering onto the gravel, of if excessive speed was a factor in the accident, which occurred just after 5:40PM.
