Crash Sends Benton County Deputy to Area Hospital
Because this involved a law enforcement agency, the Washington State Patrol will conduct the investigation.
Monday morning crash injures Benton County Deputy.
According to the Benton County Sheriff's Department, one of their Deputies sustained minor injuries in a crash in south Kennewick Monday morning, 6-27.
Around 9 AM, the BCSO said the officer was on patrol heading east on East 27th and stopped at the stop sign at Oak Street. As the Deputy then headed into the intersection, he was struck by the blue Buick pictured in our story.
The sedan was traveling north, and the preliminary investigation shows they ran the stop sign on Oak. The Deputy was taken to an area hospital with minor injuries, and the driver of the sedan declined treatment. No word if any passengers in the blue car.
According to the BCSO, the patrol car sustained enough damage it had to be towed from the scene. The Washington State Patrol will conduct a formal investigation into the accident.
