You might not want President Obama to visit your business.

Daimler Trucks announced a few days ago it was going to drop as many as 1,300 jobs at plants manufacturing Freightliner, Western Star Trucks, and Thomas Built school buses.  The plants affected include one in Portland OR, South Carolina, and one visited by Obama during the 2012 campaign.

The Daimler truck plant in Holly, North Carolina, hosted a press event by President Obama on March 8. Prior to the visit, extra shrubs and foliage were planted around the facility to make it look nicer. During the visit, Obama used the plant to tout the success of his economic recovery programs -- including the automotive bailout.

Then, Jan. 29, 2013, the company announced formal legal notice of impending layoffs because business was not strong.

A number of businesses visited by Obama during media stops have either laid off workers or closed. Call it the reverse-Midas touch!
