Deceased Baby Found Along I-82--Update From Sheriff

Benton County Sheriff Jason Erickson has released an update on the body of a baby found alongside a highway in Benton County. The image in our story was supplied by the BCSO, as to the location where the baby was found.

The baby was found near the onramp from I-182 to I-82

March 6th around 9:54 AM , BCSO Deputies responded to a report of a deceased baby found inside a trash bag along the highway, off the shoulder.

Erickson said in a bulletin released Friday, an autopsy was conducted on the infant, and she was determined to be about 30 weeks old and the coroner's report determined she had been stillborn. No other information about the baby was released.

The BCSO has not released information yet about what initially led to the discovery of the body.

The death investigation has begun, and anyone who may have information is urged to call (509)-628-0333. All leads can be confidential.

Erickson did not release information as to how the BCSO was notified about the body.
