Richland Bomb squad called to 600 North Arthur Kennewick (Kennewick police)

Residents of the North Arthur street area near Kamiakin were rattled Tuesday evening by the arrival of police units and the Richland Bomb Squad.

They were called out after 6pm for a report of a suspicious package or device near the Kamiakin and Kamiakin North apartments.

Some residents were evacuated and others told to stay inside as a precaution.  Kennewick police offered little explanation but issued a statement saying the suspicious package was NOT a bomb. Residents returned to their apartments.

NO other details were released, however police did say the investigation is going to be sent to the prosecutor's office for review.  Hmmm...
