Dozing Drugged Driver Gets Nabbed Next to Elementary School
Kennewick Police apprehended an armed drugged-out driver near an elementary school early Monday morning.
5AM CALL ABOUT SUSPICIOUS VEHICLE LEADS TO ARREST
Officers responded to a call from neighborhood citizens about a suspicious car sitting at the corner of South Keller Place and Metaline Ave. The location is the northeast corner of the playground at Hawthorne Elementary school.
Upon arrival, a 25-year-old male (whose name was not released) was seen nodding behind the wheel. The police didn't say if the vehicle was running.
VEHICLE REPORTED STOLEN OUT OF RICHLAND A WEEK AGO
A large of amount of what Officers said were "narcotics" were in plain view in the vehicle, and as they were proceeding to arrest the man they found he had a gun in the car. However, no disruption occurred. The man is now facing vehicle theft charges as well as a felon in possession of a firearm.
However, under the new laws, he was given a "referral" on the drug charge.
