Driver Pulled Over For Texting, Turns Out Car Was Stolen!
Pasco police are reporting a driver was tripped up and arrested with possession of a stolen vehicle Thursday, all because the driver was pulled over for texting while driving.
Officer Ninemire of the Pasco PD stopped this Jeep westbound on Court Street, after he saw the driver texting behind the wheel.
However, Ninemire and backup officers called to the scene noticed the vehicle didn't have a valid license plate, and had a tattered looking travel or trip permit paper in the window.
After running all the numbers, it turns out the trip permit was a fake! It had been laminated and otherwise treated so it could be changed. The car was actually reported stolen out of Spokane. Taylor A. Ramshaw, 35, the driver, was arrested for possession of a stolen vehicle.
