Driver Arrested After Killing Horse, Hurting Rider in Hit-And-Run
You may recall the shocking hit-and-run near Moses Lake a couple of days ago when a man riding his horse in the dark on Frontage Road was struck by a car driving recklessly, which then fled the scene.
Grant County Sheriff Tom Jones reported the driver is now in custody. 22-year-old Cooper Wilson of Moses Lake was quickly identified by people on social media after evidence was posted on the Grant County Sheriff's Facebook page.
Wilson is now in custody, and is facing a wide range of felony hit and run, failure to summon assistance, driving on a suspended license and other counts. The horse died in the collision, the rider (whose name was not released) was seriously hurt. His updated condition is not known.
Sheriff's Jones wishes to thank the many people who assisted with tips and information in the case.
