Kennewick police continue to investigate what (besides likely alcohol) prompted a driver to repeatedly ram his pickup into a retaining wall near the intersection of Columbia Center Boulevard and Willamette early Friday night.

Around 11pm, police arrived after getting reports of the truck ramming the wall several times. When they got there, the truck was stuck on a media at the intersection. The driver, identified as 65-year-old Steven Murray, had abandoned his truck after seeing one of the patrol cars.

He was eventually captured and charged with DUI and Hit and Run. No word yet on why he was trying to ram the wall, except it's suspected he thought it was something he could drive his truck over.
