Thanks to a grand slam in the 1st inning by Jonny Homza, the Tri-City Dust Devils never looked back in tying up the Northwest League Championship series with the Hillsboro Hops at 1-1.

Homza's blast powered the Dust Devils to a 9-1 win, and the series continues at GESA Stadium Monday and Tuesday night, 7:15pm.  If the Dust Devils win both, it will be their 2nd Northwest League title in franchise history, BUT their first since relocating to the Tri-Cities in 2001.  They've won give Division titles, but not a League title.

The Dust Devils were a Colorado Rockies affiliate from 2001 through 2014, have been with San Diego Padres since.

Game time is 7:15pm at GESA, listen in on Newstalk870AM KFLD for the play by play.
