Early Morning Finley Shooting, Arsons Lead to Suspect Being Shot
We don't know much about what happened, except that there has been an officer-involved shooting early Wednesday morning.
Between the Benton County Sheriff's Department and West Richland Police, authorities say there were a string of arson fires in the Finley area, as well as a shooting.
Then the suspect's vehicle, described as an older model pickup, was presumably pursued towards West Richland. According to reports, Van Giesen has closed around 6:30AM and will remain closed for most of the day.
The suspect's vehicle reportedly caught fire, and KEPR-TV was reporting there were ammunition-like explosions from inside the truck. Van Giesen will be closed due to crime scene processing because that's where the vehicle caught fire. No word on which department was involved in the shooting.
No other information has been released by authorities.
