“Fat Fingers” Nabs Prosser Embezzlement Thief!

A business manager in Prosser is blaming "fat fingers" for embezzling $62,000 from her employer.

Amanda Wabeke is accused of embezzling close to $62,000 from Tom Denchel Ford in Prosser and was arrested without incident on Friday.

Wabeke, 31, is charged in Benton County Superior Court with first-degree theft, which includes aggravating circumstances that it was a major economic offense.

The embezzlement started in June 2013, and involved a high degree of sophistication or planning, the use of a position of trust and a monetary loss substantially greater than is typical for theft, court documents said.

Documents list 23 suspicious transactions over the following four years.
