Fire Guts Empty Home in Kennewick, What Was the Cause?
Police and fire investigators have not nailed down the cause of the blaze, did not say if it's suspicious
Empty home gutted by fire early Thursday morning in Kennewick
Police and fire crews responded to the 5600 block of West Metaline Ave. around 3:40 AM for a report of a structure fire and found a home fully engulfed in flames.
Home not believed to be occupied.
The previous residents moved some time ago, the house appeared to be empty. At least one of the front living room windows appeared to be broken out. Fire crews determined it was not a threat to any other structures, and were able to put it out.
From the information we have, it appears to be a total loss.
Besides the fire, last night Police said a juvenile was arrested for driving under the influence and for unlawful possession of a firearm. Police didn't say if this was related or completely separate from the fire issue.
The investigation continues.
