City of Kennewick and KPD are warning the public of a flash flood on West 4th Avenue and South Steptoe.

Water has puddled making it difficult to pass through the area. It is not a moving flood, but one that could be dangerous to unobservant or speeding drivers.

The cause is intense rainfall and drainage is expected to eventually solve the problem. Police are asking vehicles to just avoid the area.

If you live in that neighborhood, perhaps visit your favorite business for an hour or two.

Traffic is expected to be an issue this summer as several road improvement projects are underway across the Tri-Cities. Give yourself extra time and drive cautiously and defensively.
