Four-Wheel Crash Injures Youth, Airlifted from Juniper Dunes
For the second time in less than 10 days, Franklin County Sheriff's Deputies responded to an incident at the Juniper Dunes recreation area near Pasco.
Deputies say over the weekend a 14-year-old boy suffered a badly broken arm after the four wheel ATV he was riding in rolled several times. Although it had a roll cage and he was buckled into the seat, his arm was outside at the time of the rollover.
The vehicle landed on his arm, breaking it. Due to rough terrain and difficulty of access, the teen was airlifted to a nearby hospital, and expected to make a full recovery.
Authorities stress to people recreating: look around the area you plan to be riding in and make sure you're less likely to have such an accident if at all possible.
