Monday night marks the first of three planned public meetings to allow discussion about proposed new school boundaries in Richland, once a 4th middle school is built.

Starting at 6pm at Carmichael Middle School on Lee Blvd. across from Fran Rish Stadium, school officials will present proposed boundary changes.

The district is getting ready to build a fourth middle school, and wants input from residents. The district wants to know if high school boundaries should also change, or if the middle schools should be modified but continue as 'feeder' schools for either Richland or Hanford.

For example, Carmichael is considered a direct feed school for Richland, as it's virtually across the street from the Richland campus.

The other meetings will also be held at 6pm at Carmichael, on Tuesday March 29th and Thursday March 31st.
