Two suspects are now facing charges after a double hit-and-run incident in Kennewick recently.

Kennewick Police did not specify what day this occurred, but say the occupants were in a pickup truck that plowed over a fire hydrant at West Canal and Volland, then a few minutes later triggered a three-vehicle crash near West Canal and Neel Streets.

In both cases, the two suspects drove away and fled the scene, according to police they abandoned their vehicle. Anyone who may have information is urged to call (509)-628-0333. All leads can be confidential.

Hitting the hydrant, under Washington state RCW law is a misdemeanor, but hitting the other car(s) jumps that to a felony. It's a Class C felony that can land a person in jail for up to five years and a $10K fine.

Police did not say if the vehicle they were driving was stolen. The search continues.
