Inslee's press conference Wednesday focused on more rapid testing kits and masks

INSLEE PUSHES KN95 MASKS AND TESTING

Governor Inslee skirted around the growing numbers of vaccinated persons who are contracting the Omicron variant of COVID during his Wednesday press conference on January 5th. When he pushed mask usage he mentioned "K-95" masks. He likely meant KN or N-95.

He also favored layering masks on top of masks.

The beginning of the conference began a little rocky with a voice offscreen being heard at different times, including one saying the Governor should be on the screen, but in the playback that appears to have been scrubbed.

Inslee mentioned a partnership with Amazon to help get more testing kits to persons in their homes.

HE ALSO PUSHED VACCINATIONS WED

Inslee pushed vaccinations and referenced back to his holiday message where the only thing he spoke of was the "gift" of the vaccine and nothing about the message of Christmas. He claimed the vaccine has better immunity than natural immunity. For those who've already had COVID, he claimed the shot is safer than relying on one's natural immune system.

He did say it's the state's "paramount" goal to keep schools open, claiming we have the tools to keep schools open.  He also mentioned the state's "Learn to Return" program that rather than closing schools, it "identifies" students and staff who are carriers or positive with the virus.
