Authorities now say foul play is not suspected in the sudden death of a six-year-old girl Saturday in Stanfield, OR.

First responders and police were called to a home in the city shortly after noon, they did not give an address, and found the little girl unresponsive and not breathing. Despite efforts from the Umatilla County Fire District #1 crews and others, she could not be revived.

Umatilla County authorities were notified, per protocol, about the death, the investigation continues. Officials have not said what the circumstances were surrounding the incident, or what may have led up to the emergency call.

Officials say counselors and other grief assistance personnel were at the girl's elementary school Monday and Tuesday to help her classmates and friends.
