With all votes counted, the Kennewick School District Bond proposal has passed.

According to the latest update from the Benton County Auditor's office, 1pm Thursday, a total of 16,967 ballots were cast out of 50,301 registered voters.

Yes votes on the $125-million project were 10,648; no votes were 6,278. It passed by a margin of 62.91 percent. Now begins the process of starting the numerous projects.

The package will pay for a brand new Kennewick High to be built on its existing land, extensive remodeling of Kamiakin and Southridge High schools, renovating and remodeling Ridgeview and Amistad Elementaries, and building an as-yet unnamed Elementary School #18.

It's believed citizens will start seeing construction work in a few weeks when the weather clears.
