One of my all-time favorite pizza joints is closing! The very popular Pizza Hut will be closing more than 200 stores nationwide.

Parent Company Yum! Brands Says It Will Close Aproximately 250 Stores in the US

According to the company, the latest round of closures will affect underperforming locations. The shutdowns will occur in the first half of the year. While this is bad news for Pizza Hut fans, it's only a small percentage of Yum! Brands total US restaurants.

The pizza war is fierce these days, with many other national chains playing the game. Domino's, Little Caesar's, and several mom and pop pizza joints are all competing with Pizza Hut for a winning slice of the pie.
