An undercover sting led to the arrest of a Moses Lake man who is accused of molesting a 15-year-old swimmer.
Moses Lake Police Arrest Man Accused of Sexually Molesting Teen at Swimming Area
Moses Lake police received a report on July 1st that a 15-year-old swimmer was molested at or near Alder Fill. Moses Lake detectives then started building a case after they received the report of the alleged molestation.

39-year-old Jaime Mendez Madrigal of Moses Lake was identified as a suspect, and the Moses Lake Police Department set the wheels of justice in motion.

Moses Lake PD arranged for a sting operation with the help of the victim. The victim invited Mendez Madrigal to Neppel Park on July 31st, where he discovered the waiting officers and was taken into custody at about 3 PM.
Mendez Madrigal was booked into the Grant County Jail on two counts of child molestation in the third degree. Detectives are also requesting an additional charge of Communication with a Minor for Immoral Purposes.
