Over the weekend Kennewick Fire Crews not only had to battle a natural cover fire, but onlookers who crowded the area making it harder to work.

Saturday evening fire crews responding to a brush fire had to utilize police to help clear the area so they could get crews and engines to the scene. According to Kennewick police:

"Officers responded to assist the Kennewick Fire Department with a brush fire because on-lookers were impeding the ability of our fire personnel to conduct their work.

While we understand the human desire to observe events as they unfold, we ask that the public remain clear of an area during these events in order for emergency services professionals to conduct their work without distraction."

Authorities did not specify where the fire was, but said in the future, people do need to stay clear of such emergency scenes.
