Kennewick Police and Fire Respond to Car Driving Into Apartment Complex
Kennewick police officers and the Kennewick fire department were on scene at an automobile accident where a vehicle drove into an apartment complex.
The collision happened at the corner of Olympia Street and 7th Avenue. Upon arrival, the officers determined that the vehicle involved in the collision had failed to stop at the stop sign while eastbound on W. 7th Ave near S. Olympia St and crashed into the apartment complex to the east of that intersection. Excessive speed is believed to be a factor in this collision as well as drugs and/or alcohol. It was also determined that one of the passengers had sustained serious medical injuries due to the collision. No one inside the residence had reported being injured. The driver of the vehicle, a juvenile male, was arrested and booked for vehicular assault and for taking a motor vehicle without permission. There were six people home at the time, but no one was hurt.
Neighbors commented this is the second time in a year an incident like this has happened and that maybe it's high time to put up a fence.
