Two juvenile suspects are in custody, more arrests expected.

Tuesday, Kennewick police announced a series of break-ins and thefts have been solved with the apprehension of a 17-year-old and 15-year-old suspect.  A 16-year-old juvenile is also named in the case.

The events link back to March 22, when a victim reported his car was stolen from 639 South Everett in Kennewick.  Then, March 25th police responded to a burglary in the 3000 block of South Dayton.

Police later recovered the stolen car, a 2002 Pontiac Sunbird, in Monopoly Park in Kennewick, on March 26th.  Then authorities got a break on March 28th when two officers responding to a break-in at the Knob Hill Store at 424 South Gum were able to identify one of two suspects seen in video surveillance footage.

Then the pieces quickly came together.  After contacting the parents of one of the juveniles and finding stolen store property at their home, authorities were able to identify the other break-in suspect.  Evidence led to a third home where another suspect was arrested.

Police learned the two Knob Hill burglary suspects had stolen the car, attempted to sell it, and loaned it to another suspect who used it to commit the burglary on South Dayton. Police also searched a home at 820 South Alder which resulted in the arrest of the 15-year-old.

Police found the title and report of sale for the Pontiac were recovered at the Alder home.  Additional arrests are expected as more evidence unfolds, but police now know these recent events were connected.

The teens are facing commercial and residential burglary charges, first degree theft, and possession of stolen property counts.
