After tempers began to flare, and an injunction was filed in Benton County Court, Thursday night officials were able to announce a tentative agreement between the Kennewick School District and the Kennewick Education Association (KEA) teachers union.

They're not out of the woods yet, as teachers will meet at 10am to go over the deal, and vote which could take most of the day.

But the tentative agreement was welcome news to thousands of students and parents. School was delayed 3 days due to the strike. The KSD filed an injunction trying to force the teachers back to work, and the KEA then filed a grievance with the PERC (Public Employees Relations Council).

If the contract is approved school will resume Tuesday in Kennewick for some 19,000 students.
