Mental Health Standoff Over, Armed Suspect in Custody

A tense police standoff near 17th and Tacoma in Kennewick  has ended peacefully, with no one getting hurt.

Early Monday, police were called to the area, about a report of a man who barricaded himself in the backyard of a home and refused to come out.

He was armed, and said to be suicidal. KAPP-KVEW TV reported as of around 9am the man had surrendered. He's being taken for a mental health evaluation. More information expected soon.
