Well then, what is it? According to officials at Western State Hospital  a third patient who left the grounds without authorization is not considered an escape, but a walkaway.

The person's identification still has not been released, but in the wake of two other inmates who escaped from the Lakewood, WA hospital, a third person walked out of a side door of the facility and did not return.

This person apparently had certain privileges, and was visiting the hospital's fashion area and had purchased some clothing. They then apparently went out a side door, instead of returning to their required area by 10:50am Friday morning.

However, according to officials, their departure is not considered an escape, but a "walkaway" which apparently are quite common.

No new information has been released about this third person, except that as of Monday morning, they were still at large.
