Because it's an ongoing investigation, no additional information has been released, but we know this much.

The Oregon State Patrol was contacted by the Milton-Freewater Police Department following an alleged incident involving a 46-year-old suspect.  The State Patrol said they were asked September 27th  to investigate the incident involving 36-year-old officer Brian D. Scott.

According to the State Patrol, the day before, Scott was walking the suspect to the police department's processing area inside the Milton-Freewater police station. The suspect, who was arrested for theft, was reportedly pushed in the back by Scott while handcuffed. The push was enough to cause him to fall forward, hitting his head on a concrete wall.

The man sustained injuries to his scalp and vertebrae that required treatment at a local hospital.

Video surveillance footage corroborated evidence the Patrol detectives had received from the department, and Scott was arrested September 28th and charged with Assault II and Official Misconduct II. He's in the Umatilla County Jail.

No other information has been released by the State Patrol or other Milton-Freewater or County officials.
