The latest event in a shocking, sad story that grabbed headlines across the Tri-Cities.

Authorities believe Star C. Link, 26, who was recently found passed out in a car with Anthony M. Paladin June 1st. in Kennewick, has fled and jumped bail.

Police had received a call about a suspicious vehicle parked in the 100 block of West Clearwater around 1am. They arrived and found the vehicle sitting with the engine running. Inside were Link and Paldin, both appeared to be slumped over. Link's 2-year-old child was sitting in the back seat.

Both were found with drug paraphernalia and she was charged with possession of meth and heroin. She was released on $2,000 bond, and Child Protective Services launched an investigation into the two.

However, Wednesday Benton County Prosecutors said they have received information that indicates Link has not only left the Tri-Cities, but has fled the state.

Orders have been requested to have Link's bail revoked,  that hearing is coming June 22. Paladin remains in the Benton County Jail, with a trial date of August 1st. As for the child, CPS says no mistreatment of the child can be proved, only that they were failing to provide proper and necessary means for the welfare of the child and his safety.

More information expected to be released soon.
