MLPD Officers responded to an armed robbery that took place Sunday evening on Russell Ave. The suspect, a male teen, fired several shots at the victim before fleeing on foot.

Monday evening, around 8:30 PM,  Officers on Patrol spotted the teen, who jumped over a fence and fled.

  The Teen Was Captured After he Dodged Traffic

He was able to elude pursuing Police as he ran, or dodged his way through traffic across Broadway, but little did he know he was running right into a trap.

After climbing another fence, he dropped right in front of Moses Lake's K-9 Rex, and his handler.  Rex pursued him caught him, dropped him, and held him until his handler, Officer Zook, and other Police arrived. Rex took him down with one tremendous tug.

The teen was jailed on multiple counts, including Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Felony Assault, and Violation of a Protection Order.
