The Moses Lake Police Department has taken a dangerous drug dealer off the streets.

They thank the alert neighbors who tipped them off.

Without the information and assistance of the neighbors, this investigation would have taken much longer. We value the relationship with our community and try to strengthen it every day.

On Tuesday, detectives took 58-year-old Eric Deane into custody, after receiving numerous complaints about criminal activity in the 200 block of Northshore Drive. Neighbors reported seeing a high volume of traffic at the suspect's residence over the last two weeks.

Detectives obtained a warrant to search the home and an arrest warrant for Deane. After further investigation, it was learned that another wanted suspect was living at the residence. 56-year-old Brian Godfrey was wanted by the Department of Corrections for robbery. Godfrey was located at the residence and taken into custody as well.

After searching the residence, detectives with the Moses Lake Department Street Crimes Unit recovered methamphetamine and evidence of drug trafficking.

According to the Moses Lake Police Department Facebook page:

Deane was booked into the Grant County Jail on charges of possession of methamphetamine with intent to deliver. The owner of the home has been served with a notice of the department’s intent to civilly seize the home under state law if the homeowner continues to allow the home to be used for criminal activity.

The Moses Lake Police Department would like to thank the community for their assistance.
