Richland police officials have now given the likely cause of the motorcycle crash Sunday afternoon that has left a young man on life support.

Police say 24-year-old Brendan Moore was likely speeding on his Harley Davidson northbound on Steptoe when he didn't merge in time where the road narrows at Tapteal. He hit a curb and was thrown from the bike.  He suffered head and back injuries, and people who saw the crash performed CPR to keep him alive until EMS units arrived.

Police also say toxicology tests have not returned yet, but it's likely alcohol was involved as well. Medical officials say Moore has been on life support with no brain activity, and family members said he will likely be taken off support in a few days.

Moore was just married in May of this year, and he was a Tri-City native, his family said he was a resident of Spokane County.
