New Mexico Man to be Charged in Kidnapping of Kennewick Teen
A 13-year old Kennewick girl will soon be reunited with her family after she was taken by a 35-year old man last Saturday night.
According to Kennewick Police, they took a report of a missing teen on Sunday. After investigation, it was learned the girl and Lucas Murphy, of New Mexico were corresponding over social media. Murphy told the victim he was 21-years old.
Kennewick Police and detectives in Los Lunas, New Mexico coordinated and, after obtaining a search warrant, Murphy was arrested Wednesday at about 9:45 pm. The girl was found safe with Murphy.
He was booked into the Valencia County Jail. Murphy faces multiple charges, including 1st Degree Kidnapping, Attempted Rape of a Child, and Communication with a Minor for Immoral Purposes.
Police say Murphy could face additional charges in New Mexico.
