National Public Radio host Lisa Simeone is coming under fire after evidence has surfaced implicating her to be the 'official' spokeswoman/media strategist for the Occupy D.C. movement, the offshoot of the protest movement that began on Wall Street.

According to information obtained by the Media Research Center (an independent research and political action group) Ms. Simeone was exposed as spending her spare time working with the Occupy D.C. protestors.  NPR has a policy that prohibits this type of activity; 'engaging in public relations work, paid or unpaid.'   According to the MRC as well as Newsbusters, Ms. Simeone's involvement with the group goes clear back to July, when the Occupy D.C. event began to be put together. As a result of the MRC and Newsbusters exposure, Ms. Simeone has been let go from NPR.  The MRC is preparing an online petition to be send to GOP Speaker of the House John Boehner, calling for immediate government de-funding of not only NPR but the Corporation for Public Broadcasting (CPB) the parent group for public radio and television.
