Some good news for skiiers, and others who love cold and more snow.  The NOAA-government forecasters-say due to La Nina, this winter will mirror that of 2010-11.

La Nina is a weather phenomenon that comes from cooling of the Pacific Ocean, and the result will be cooler and wetter weather than what is normally seen in the Pacific Northwest.  Especially for the Cascades and other mountain areas, significantly more snowfall is expected,  and could affect Eastern WA as well.  Meanwhile, other areas of the nation, especially the are stretching from Southern CA across Texas, Oklahoma and other Southwest regions could see warmer, drier weather.  Officials stress this is no gurantee of the forecast; only that based upon what happened last year, conditions appear to be the same for producing such weather this winter.
