Authorities in San Diego report one of two brothers wanted in connection with the disappearance and likely murder of a man and woman near Arlington, WA is in custody. The story set off national headlines after the men fled to Mexico.

49-year-old Tony Reed, pictured with beard, apparently crossed the border from Mexico to San Diego and was arrested by U.S. Marshall's.

He and his brother 53-year-old John Blaine Reed, are wanted in connection with the disappearance in April of Patrick Shunn and Monique Patenaude, who went missing from their ranch near Arlington, WA. Snohomish County sheriff's say the couple are likely dead, based upon forensic evidence found where the Reed's allegedly disposed of the couple's two vehicles.

They'd had property disputes with the Reed brothers, and various evidence ties the two men to the dumping of their vehicles and other activities related to their disappearance.

The two men were last spotted in Phoenix before heading to Mexico. Then after numerous sightings in that country, authorities say Tony Reed was arrested in the U.S. The whereabouts of John Reed are not known.
