Oregon May Finally Allow Self-Serve Gas Pumping Statewide
Oregon already has allowed self-serve gas pumps in metro (city) areas with populations under 40,000, but this bill would allow them statewide.
House Bill 3194 would allow gas stations to designate up to 25% of their pumps for self-serve. Gas station owners would not be able designate limited hours for the self-serve, but they will not charge less for that fuel.
It appears the payoff would be allowing consumers a 'faster' refueling experience.
Currently, Oregon and New Jersey are the only states where self-serve is not allowed statewide. To find out more on this idea, click on the button below.
