The last time Oregon's unemployment rate was this low was five years ago.

According to the Oregon Employment Department,  the unemployment rate dropped to 7.3%, the lowest since 2008 when it was 7.2 in September of that year.

The industries showing the biggest jumps in jobs were trade, transportation, utility services, professional and business services.   All but two of the 11 industries ranked by Oregon gained jobs.

Non-farm, seasonally adjusted jobs rose some 5,400 in the state for the month, and gains have been posted in 12 of the last 14 months, according to Oregon officials.  Construction was the fastest growing industry job-wise in the state over the last 12 months, adding another 8,100 jobs since last November.
