A large part of Columbia Park Trail will be closed in both directions during the day because of construction concerns.

Crews are concerned about a sewer trench that has caved in with construction and the danger it poses to people passing by, according to reports.

The section of the road that is closed is located west of Windmill Road, to Queensgate Drive and will be closed from 6:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.

If you are trying to enter Queensgate Dr./Duportail Road, you will want to use Leslie Rd/Gage Blvd/Keene Rd instead of Columbia Park Trail.

The Ben Franklin Transit Park and Ride on Windmill Road and all surrounding business on Tulip Lane will remain accessible during the closure.

Crews should be done with construction and the Columbia Park Trail should re-open for traffic again on July 6th. The city says the date could change.
