Pasco Shooting Suspects Had 4-Year-Old in Car During Chase
The two suspects nabbed in connection with an injury shooting on Ruby Street in Pasco Tuesday night have been identified. But the shocking part is after their vehicle was disabled by Police following a chase, officers found a child inside.
Around 6:28pm, police were called to the 800 block of West Ruby, near 4th and Court, and found a 28-year-old victim suffering from several gunshot wounds. The critical man was triaged at Lourdes Medical Center, then airlifted to another hospital for more treatment.
Later that evening, police located a vehicle believed associated with that shooting, and the driver sped off, leading police on a chase that went from 4th and Court, over the Blue Bridge, past Richland on Highway 240 before returning on I-182 to Pasco. Police used a pit maneuver and spike strips to finally disable the car near Road 44 and Riverhaven.
Police arrested the driver, 36-year old Kendra Ponce of Pasco on multiple charges, as well as her passenger Santiago Ayala Pineda-he was taken on an outstanding warrant. Police also found a 4-year-old child in the back seat, they were unharmed, and the child was given to the care of responsible adults, according to police.
