Police are still trying to locate the vehicle that not only blew the railroad crossing on Steptoe Street just west of the mall and north of Gage, but they snapped the crossing gate.

The railroad safety surveillance camera captured this footage September 1st.  At 2:43 pm, the crossing gates came down, the lights came on, as a train approached.

The vehicle in question, the dark colored minivan or SUV, appears on camera after a few  seconds. The southbound  driver clearly plows through the gate, but doesn't stop. They didn't notify police or authorities either.

Anyone with any information is asked to call (509)-628-0333. All leads are confidential. Not only is it against the law to blow such a crossing when the lights come on and bars come down, but they caused damage to the crossing.
