Not only that, but Mayor Charlie Hales wants to put in place a $10K tax credit for companies that do hire former felons. (Video courtesy of Daylight Disinfections on YouTube)

Remember when you filled out that job application? It had that box where you would check (or not check) to answer the question "have you ever been convicted of a felony?" Sometimes it's worded differently, but virtually all job applications across America have them...but if a growing movement gets their way, will have had them.

Mayor Hales, according to Laughing at Liberals on YouTube and progressivestoday.com, has jumped on the "Ban The Box" movement.  It's a drive pushed by the uber-left and progressives to remove that question from job applications.

Now, everybody knows sometimes people lie. But even if you checked "yes" or checked the "box", that was not automatically grounds for disqualification.

But Hales and other "Ban The Box" supporters believe it's discriminatory. But not asking that question could raise serious security issues for companies, according to progressivestoday.com:

"This means a business owner will be legally barred from asking an applicant if they’re a felon. The business won’t know if their employees are child molesters, drunk drivers, drug traffickers…and that includes police officers."

By giving a $10K tax break to business who hire "returning citizens" (the politically correct term for felons) businesses would actually be committing discrimination, say critics. And, if the person doesn't have to disclose if they are a felon, how would the business owner know so they could get their tax credit? It's enough to make your head explode.
