Record Cold Temps Ring in New Year in Pasco, Hermiston

According to the National Weather Service based out of Pendleton, we broke some records.
RECORD LOW TEMPS FOR PASCO AND HERMISTON
December 31st saw a new record low of -5 for Pasco, the old record was set 110 years ago of -2 in 1911.
Hermiston saw their -9 eclipse the old record of -8 set in 1978.

The NWS says to expect more frigid temps Sat into Sunday, it was -7 at the Tri-Cities Airport, -3 in Walla Walla, and -22 in LaGrande, OR.

Another strong Pacific storm will dump more snow on the Pacific Northwest through Monday, but warmer temps Monday and Tuesday will likely bring us a mix of rain and snow, and by Wednesday highs just below 40.
