A 12-year-old girl told police she was sexually assaulted by a convicted sex offender, and now he's been arrested again.

Police apprehended 19-year-old Skyler Nelson was arrested Tuesday. He allegedly sexually assaulted the girl by pulling her hair, causing extreme pain, then forced her to perform oral sex on him. He waived his Miranda rights to police, claiming he thought she was 14 or 15.

Nelson was previously convicted in 2014 in 1st and 2nd Degree rape of a child in November 2014.  Earlier this year in May, following his release, authorities notified the public he was living in Benton County, in Kennewick, and was under DOC (Department of Corrections) supervision.

This assault took place in August, officials were notified about it August 30. The girl said she knew him from the Kennewick Skate Park. That would be a violation of his terms of release, as he was not allowed anywhere near all parks, schools, libraries, abd public swimming pools in Benton and Franklin Counties. The assault reportedly took place in a bathroom, possibly near the Skate Park.

He is now facing 2nd Degree Rape of a Child Charges. A Level 3 offender is considered likely to reoffend, according to Washington State Sex Offender standards.
